Brief Bio

I attended Adelaide University in Australia and Stanford University in the US. I lived in Japan in the early 80s, then moved to the US. After Stanford I worked for 8 years at Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB). In 1996 I co-founded NetMind which in February 2000 was acquired by Puma Technology, later renamed Intellisync, and in turn acquired by Nokia (NYSE:NOK). I left Pumatech in 2002, returned to Australia and joined Foursticks as CTO. In June 2005 I lead a management buy-out of Foursticks and founded NetPriva, which was subsequently acquired by Expand Networks. In February 2007 I joined Google as Engineering Director for Google Australia and New Zealand. I also serve on the advisory boards of 4 universities and am a member of the Government 2.0 Taskforce.
